Gaming the System - Page 2 Empty Gaming the System

    Post by Roy42 Sun Apr 12, 2009 2:53 am

    First topic message reminder :

Buford has a new game, "Jump and Duck", which everyone is loving the look of. But Phineas is always one for a challenge, and Candace's comment about a game "sucking them in" is just the inspiration he needs to create a virtual reality machine of "Jump and Duck". The trouble begins when Candace, in her preparations for a Cotillion Jeremy has asked her to, gets pulled in before the boys. Meanwhile, Doofenshmirtz has a slightly more disturbing childhood horror revenge story, but is the song and dance really necessary for this one?

I don't know, perhaps it was fanservice. Granted, I don't know anyone who wants to see Candace running around in a towel, but still....

Eh, that standard red tank top with white skirt was starting to get played out anyway. elephant Perhaps from now on she can wear a towel wherever she goes, accompanied by an unplugged hair dryer.

Lol. Well maybe male fans enjoyed the episode as fanservice. I think the readjusting was sort of part of her loading her weapon and may be a reference to some action done before loading a weapon... It did seem a bit unecessary though, but i doubt Dan said to Swampy "Hey you know what we should do? We should have this scene where Candace is about to expose her breasts and then stops. That would be so completely awesome"

And I still wonder how they got away with "shake your asteroid" in the episode "Out to Launch". But this particular scene seems to be a topic of hot debate on this thread. I guess in that secene, if I watched it closely enough, was, as Atomius mentioned, Candace getting herself "adjusted", if you will, to blast the enemies in that video game. I mean, I do agree it IS kind of cutting it close with the closeup of her adjusting her towel around her. Any closer and the FCC will have thier heads off for indecency.

Although, frankly, I don't see why people are making such a hugehuge deal out of Candace running around in a towel. The show pulls stuff off like that all the time, it's just awesome like that. Cool

What's more strange to me is how the hairdryer worked without being plugged in. Perhaps it's supposed to be battery-powered? Is there such thing as a battery-powered hairdryers....?

Er... yeah, I don't think that's what it was supposed to seem like she was doing. Rather, I think she was fixing the towel so that wouldn't happen.

I thought about that too, but didn't she come outside because her hairdryer stopped working to complain to Phineas? Cuz yeah her hairdryer didn't even have a cord. XD

Well let's chalk that one up to director's oversight.

Yeah, good for noticing also (with the hairdryer) folks. Plus, how does a hairdryer, which does not work outside (abliet unplugged) actually work in Phineas and Ferb's videogame? I found that to be rather strange, unless they left what weapons can be used in the game vauge (you can use anything you want).

Hmm. Well the fact Candace was so realistically presented in the game shows it's a highly advanced type of game which can do stuff like that... I'm certainly not making a deal about the towel thing, like Neerav i just feel it's interesting. It just seemed so out of place and yet on purpose.

Maybe the game has the same set of rules as MadWorld, if you can pick it up, you can use it as a weapon. Plus, it never ran out, so I'm guessing that when she was zapped into it it must have supercharged it or something.

Hmm. I think their game is very highly advanced like all their creations. I imagine if a human being can be represented within an actual video game world... For real, then a hairdryer being used as a weapon seems logical enough. It might also explain the towel thing. Maybe Candace's towel didn't fall off because in the video game world science is slightly different and clothing just doesn't fall off no matter what. Still doesn't explain the readjustment but for it not falling off during all that jump and ducking i daresay the video games virtual laws of physics had some part to play

That is definitely possible, Roy. The hair dryer is registered in teh video game as a gun so your theory seems pretty reasonable to me.

I wonder where the word "Catillion" comes from?

Anyway, another great episode, with Isabella probably getting the best line. "The bigger they are, the harder they depixellate!"

What? Candace running around wearing only a towel? I like my fightin' girls to look good! Razz

*AHEM* The song was awesome and so was the entire in-game sequence. I figred it was about time they made an episode about a game.

I figured it was about time that there was a song that absolutely every word I completely understood, was about my biggest passion but not in a sarcastic and taking-the-piss kinda way, and that few other people would understand the entire song.
