    Doofenshmirtz Empty Doofenshmirtz

    Post by Roy42 Sat Mar 07, 2009 4:19 am

Heinz Doofenshmirtz is one of the most successful characters of the show. After living in Gimmerschtump, a small villlage within Drueselstien, where nothing in the world could go right for him, Doofenshmirtz managed to make a successful image for himself in the tri-state area with the Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporation, owning several buildings, being an accomplished inventor and not-so-accomplished father, he has turned things around quite amazingly, with only his loathing of his childhood and pet peeves to make him turn to evil schemes to pass the time.

Good villain. Nay, greatest villain of all time. Okay, to be honest Drakken imo would be on the same level, if not the same room. But Doofenshmirtz imo is one of this decades finest villains along with Drakken, Charmcaster, Zuko etc. If not the finest. His character is most like my own, although i speak more like Ferb most times. His method of evil is quite interesting and one really feels for the chap when his professor, Evaarlik, is unimpressed by his work. Good fellow all round imo.

I like that he has an actual basis for being evil, he has achievable goals, good traps and he's not incomprehensibly smug most of the time.

Yeah, his background is very sad. It's played for laughs, but it still makes me feel bad for him when I think about poor Doofy's father naming his dog 'Only Son', or making him be the lawn gnome, or his parents not showing up for his birthday party...sad very sad.

What I like about that is even after all that, he doesn't brood about it. Okay, well he does, when he tries to get revenge with his evil weapons, but it's not like he says "Woe is me, I was so mistreated, boo hoo hoo." He leads a relatively normal life, (aside from the evil), with a daughter, and an ex-wife.

    I know, let's see:

    1. His parents never showed up for his birth or any birthday afterwards.

    2. His father named his spitzenhound "Only Son"

    3. His father forced him to remain as a lawn gnome for his childhood

    4. He lost his potential girlfriend to a boy with large hands, ruining his career in hand shadows.

    5. He was bullied for most of his young adult life by getting sand kicked in his face

    6. He could never grow facial hair and was mocked by all who could.

    7. He was shown up by his brother Roger.

    8. (forgot this one, but I'm not going back to renumber them) He could never impress his professor.

    9. (ditto) He never managed to be a successful magician.

Any of them I've forgotten? My point, he's definitely come a long way, hasn't he?

I think someone treated unfairly or subject to an unfairness deserves to be allowed to do evil. So i congratulate Doofenshmirtz on how far he has come and achieved.

No, it was just a commercial about the show in general, and it featured him. 8D It was so beautiful. I hope they upload that ad on YouTube so we can all marvel at the fabulousness.

(I always want to put a "c" in his last name... gah... must... resist... urge... to spell... Doofenschmirtz....)

Anyway I absolutely love him to death! I didn't think anyone would ever be able to top Dr. Drakken in list of amazing villains, but Doof totally has! I love every one of his evil schemes, and for what it's worth he was a really cute kid! Seeing him making his very first -inator in "Unfair Science Fair" I was like - "Awwwww, so cute!" He certainly has come a long way! XD

His interaction with his ex is also very funny - mostly because it's totally what a non-evil person would say when interacting with his ex. Haha, I wonder if he had evil schemes she didn't know about while they were married, or if his failed marriage was another one of the many factors that drove him to evil-ness. Hahahaha.

    But yes, I love Doof.

Ooh, that's a good point, I knew I forgot something, even if it's just a possible.

    10. Seemingly found love, but ended in a divorce.

Although I reckon he was evil before the marriage, considering what Vanessa says in "I Scream, You Scream".

Maybe but since Charlene is so clueless i think he might not have been. Also in the episode backyard aquariam he says "before i was evil i worked as a brotwurst seller!" so he must not have been evil!!!
BUT yes big but! i love dr doofenshmirtz tooooo much and i wish i lived next to him and i would....i think you can guess how much i like him.I think he is the best disney villian to date and the best villian i have ever seen.To see how much suffering he has gone through i feel sorry for him. Also i suppose we both have a thing that in comon we dont fit in well,so i think that may make me like him more generally Twisted Evil

I have felt sorry for poor Doofenschmirtz since "Chez Platypus". The hits keep on coming to him. I wonder how much more he has gto go through before he becomes truly happy (if that even happens).

If you are refering to "Perry the Platypus" from the episode "The Chronicles of Meap" (when they were on Mitch's ship), then yes. The whole ballooney thing and have him disowned by his father was pretty sad. He had a pretty rough childhood back then. I guess, some can say, this is why he went over to practice evil and do evil thins (I am no psychologist, but this is my guess).

Hmm, after all those backstories I should update the list of his pathetic childhood, shouldn't I? I'll get to it right- as soon as I've had breakfast.

I don't know.......Doofy mentioned quite a few backstories in the episode "The Chronicles of Meap", and had other backstories in other episodes. I guess you can mention some of his backstories as part of his "character history" as a way to explain why he does what he does.

For some reason there are a lot more backstories for him in the newer episodes.....almost every episode contains one.

Which is awesome, because child!Doofy is adorable. xD

I do like how some of the stories that he tells for some of his plots relates to some part of his childhood or an earlier part of his life. I admit, it makes his schemes a bit more interesting (and even funny) to watch.

It also makes people who watch, say, "Chronicles of Meap", want to find the backstory where he was a lawn gnome, not only is it a marketing technique, subtly, but it is just helpful to make the jokes even more in depth, they have to be watched by people who have basically watched the entire show to figure out what half of the jokes are.

I agree. That is why I like it when Doofy mentions some of his back stories in his plots. I cannot believe he was made to be a lawn gnome back in the day........how humiliating!

Doofy had a pretty bad childhood. Some of what happened to him was funny, others were sad. I guess Doofy is trying to make up for the cruel tricks that were played on him back when he was young.
