Spongebob ?!?

You may be wondering why I've decided to create a section for Spongebob Squarepants. It's because D.P.(you know who by now if you've seen the Family Guy page.) was a member of their writing staff over there.

And when he left things got weird; Dan Povenmire is clearly one of the best out there (Swampy pretty awesome too).

Really, the show just started to suck after the movie. (Or, depending on your perspective, it never really stopped sucking to begin with, but it's almost universally agreed that it got even worse after the film.)

Personally, the show was rendered unwatchable for me after seeing "All That Glitters", where Spongbob literally bawls his eyes out while naked on the floor and rolling around in the fetal position for thirty straight seconds- over his broken spatula! His poor charecter was flanderized like nothing has ever been flanderized in pop culture history. I was actually forced to watch Spongebob again shortly thereafter, and guess what? He was rolling on the ground with Patrick (though mercifully clothed)- over a broken toy. Like I said, it should have been respectfully laid to rest long ago.

ChimmneyVator, well put. I think SpongeBob has really got himself tangled up. He's pretty much like "the living dead" and stranger than ever but a hit amongst the younger crowd and running for, what, 9, 10 years now? How can it respectfully end without losing fans and breaking young children's hearts.

I think it really should've just been laid down after it's fifth season, great run time. But no, they had to go the extra 3 billion miles and double that. Which just leads to it getting tangled up (I don't exactly know how to explain it even my first attempt didn;t work out so well). There are very few series I cheer on pass the third or fourth season. There are some that got a wonderful and deserved running time but this is definetley not one, in my opinion. Why can't I word things I want to?

I think Spongebob...just needs to act like the old Spongebob....Where the jokes were more funnier and easy to laugh at.....recently I think all the fun from it has drained away.

Somehow I think that over 115 episodes is way too much sponge to handle. "All that Glitters" - was that before or after Spongebob dreamt he was in medieval times, Chimneyvator?

I'm not entirely sure. I stopped watching regularly, at least, after I saw that episode. Apparently, the show is so "mindless and demeaning" that my friend's four-and-six-year old kids aren't allowed to watch it. Now THAT's what I call a terrible show

I would've like to have said that LC took the words right out of my mouth but that of course, would be a lie. Why can't they go back to the good ol' days? "BIG!! SCARY!!... AND PINK!!" Seriously? That was always a laugh for me. They just aren't pulling them like they used to and now with they way things are, I just don't see why they don't come to an end where they can all still maintain the little dignity they have left (I believe I lost that long ago so I don't really care about the stupid things I do anymore).

I agree, it's sad that the writers sold out. I hope that never happens on P&F.
