While Mom goes shopping, Phineas and Ferb build "the coolest coaster ever" as Candace tries desperately to convince their mother of its existence. Meanwhile, Perry battles with Doofenshmirtz to stop his plan to reverse the rotation of the earth with, tin foil?

The FIRST EPISODE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wooot yay!!! well i thought this episode needed the credit it deserves

Yeah ive watched this episode millions of times.The only thing i wonder about is the nail-in-foot inccidet with doofy.I want to know where that nail goes!!!!! (wow rhyme! XD)

I believe this was the episode they previewed on Disney Channel several months before the show actually began. It inspired me to fall in love with the rest of the show. I wasn't expecting much what with the failure of recent Disney Channel original cartoons like "The Replacements" and "The Emperor's New School" but then we saw this episode and I remember thinking, "That was gold! I want to see more!"

And thus, an obsession was born...

I never really saw any previews, didn't really ever watch Disney Channel back in those days. After I saw my first episode though, I was like 'Whoa that was actually good I have to watch the first!' And then....yeah. Obsession born, blah blah blah...I recall going around for days saying stuff like 'What if a meteor falls out of the sky' and 'Platypus are the only mammals to lay eggs' and weirding everybody out.
But anyways...great episode. Will always be one of my favorites.

This episode, despite it being the pilot, is not actually one of my favorites.

*gets pelted with random objects*

Thing is, this wasn't the first episode I ever saw, so it doesn't really have that special meaning for me. Also, because it was the pilot, there are "rough bits" in my opinion-- Phineas's sarcasm and lie are the obvious thing that comes to mind. These of course were fixed later, and I know that that's to be expected from a pilot episode, but still.

A fantastic episode. By the way, I have a start-of a funny review on the episode here! Enjoy!

I won't pelt you with anything, eemee; I actually have to agree. The highlight of the episode, though, was Doofy's charecter- he had just the right balance of evil and stupidity (later episodes have become rather exaggerated).

Where does Phineas lie in this episode? o.O

He tells Candace he and Ferb are doing homework, when clearly they're not.

Ah, after rewatching this episode, I noticed that Phineas really does seem to have kind of an attitude in this episode. Interesting.

But still quite awesome.

After watching the episode several times as well, I also noticed what the other members picked up on. Also to note that "Rollercoaster" was used to pitch the show to the Executives of Disney before it came to where it is today.

I thought he was calling it homework because of when he said, "The first thing they're gonna ask us is what did we do all summer!" They're doing that so they can have an answer to give, so it could be considered homework, in a way.

I didn't watch the show at all for the longest time after it aired, convinced it'd be more Disney cartoon garbage. I don't even really remember what made me decide to start, but ironically, this was the first episode I saw! Needless to say, I was hooked. And here I am now!

It´s the classic under the Phineas and Ferb episodes. It´s the first episode I´ve ever seen and it was interesting for me. But after I´ve watch some another episodes I start to love the show. But I absolutly hate in this episode the german Synchronization. Candace has at the beginning (only "Rollercoaster") a different Voice than in the another episodes. And this Voice is awful.
Anyway, this episode is very cool and I want to take a ride with this Rollercoaster, too.
