Swiss Family Phineas Empty Swiss Family Phineas

    Post by Roy42 Sun Jul 12, 2009 10:42 am

There's nothing like a family boating trip, that is, until the boat gets caught in a storm and brings the vessel onto the rocks. While Mum and Dad work on repairs, the kids are assigned tasks. Candace is in charge of collecting food, although she is more concerned with making a date with Jeremy at sunset, while Phineas, Ferb and Isabella need to 'find' shelter. Meanwhile, when Perry has difficulties in getting away from Baljeet and Buford's watchful eyes to stop Doofenshmirtz from initiating "Big Laundry", it's time to send in the only remaining operative left: CARL THE INTERN.

    "You're giving a monkey a shower???"
    "Yup, had to be done!"

Oh my goodness, that line had me on the floor. XD

I thought this was a pretty good episode, lots of references - Titanic, Gilligan's Island, Swiss Family Robinson, and of course we find out what "Big Laundry" means.

    My only question -

I mean... really? IN the show? This shot feels like a bad DeviantArt pic... o.O

I did find that a bit "Hmm, this is gonna be interesting over the next few weeks…" I had thought they were just going to do a 'Secret Agent in a tux" thing, but that completely threw me off.

No, No, No. Perry and Doofy never be married. Never! I don´t know why disney make this scene in the show, but that....No, I can´t acept. I mean, a friendship...perhaps. But a love story? No. What does Phineas say everytime? He´s a Platypus. They don´t do much. Wink
Anyway, this episode is cool. But it remember me a little bit at the episode "The Lake Nose Monster" ('Cause they were on a boat...and wear security wests..well..)
The Song of Carl won´t be my favorite. I don´t like it much. It sounds good, but not so good that it could be one of my favorite.

    Well, because.

Cater to the rabid pairing fangirls and you've just put smiles on the faces of approximately one-fourth of the show's watchers.

Cater to the people that enjoy seeing Ferb naked covering himself with only a leaf, on the other hand, and...well, a lot of people were probably very happy about that too.

This show is built on fanservice. xD

The last time I remember seeing Ferb "almost" naked was in the Season 1 episode "Run Away, Runway", when they were making clothes and Ferb's shirt and pants got zapped from him, covering himself with the giant spool. That was pretty funny.

As for the epsisode in question, I did not like it too much, though the pic that was posted of Doof and Perry is funny. That was the only part of the episode that I really enjoyed.

I liked Carl's role in the subplot, but it was also just a tad disappointing. I was thinking, "Cool, Carl's about to go after Doofenshmirtz!" Haha!

The other part I liked, was how Candace was saying, "Why didn't you..." and Phineas would say, "It's not what dad said to do." :-D And who couldn't love the "Giving a monkey a shower" bit? Perfect!

When I saw Carl get sent out, I had no idea it would be to rescue Perry. It was a pretty good tease that the creators of the show put in the episode just to fool us, and it worked. I can never imagine Carl going up against Dr. Doofenschmirtz.......he would wet his pants in a heartbeat.

I think it would've been pretty funny. But I guess we won't find out...*sigh*

Pretty good episode, in my opinion. The Perry and Doof bit with the tux and wedding dress was a combination of weird and disturbing to me, but the 'giving a monkey a shower' was just hilarious.

    Oh, he certainly would've.

I can also think of a couple people who probably enjoyed Ferb naked again. Razz Shame he wasn't in a bikini though. Very Happy

Anyways... anything else I could say would be redundant... yes, they gave a monkey a shower, yes, Carl was funny-- I really liked his theme song

    I thought the same thing.

All in all, I liked the episode. ESPECIALLY the Carl song, OMG, that was so amazing, I'll be singing that for a LONG time, lol.

Other than Ferb naked, Doofenshmirtz was too, strangely, in the giant washer. Yeah, I think Tig's right when she said that the shows built on fanservice, lol.

.....Yeah, I definitely did a double-take during that scene.

I'm kinda surprised there isn't more male fanservice....perhaps Vanessa should show up more. xD

The show isn't built on fanservice, the second season is supported by fanservice.

Ah, just an exaggeration on my part is all, of course the show isn't entirely built on fanservice. But it has some. 8D

Though the first season had its fair amount as well....the "Busted" musical interlude was full of it.

Yeah, I get you were just exaggerating, I don't think anything can be entirely built on fanservice, except for Smash Bros. of course…I think it was fun how the parents had to repair the vessel due to it being 'too dangerous', that made me chuckle, for a split second.

I agree also that the episode in question is not built on fanservice.......rewatching the episode again, I get the same feelings about the episode that it was an ok episode. The part where they Phineas and Ferb made fun of Candace relaxing on the deck of the ship was funny. Next time, they better check the weather and marine forecast before they take that boat out.

To me, it was an okay episode......not as good as the Perry episode, which also aired that day. Phineas and Ferb making fun of Candace I found funny. The rest of the episode, well, there wasn't much too it, in my opinion.

The only thing I found irratating was Candace.......she should be thankful for not only being alive, but to have brothers like Phineas and Ferb who can do things that benefits everyone.

I'm sorry to say this, but this has to be the WORST episode I have seen in this series so far. The appearance of Carl (shouldn't that be Karl) and his theme song saved this ep from being a complete disaster. Mind you, Perry and Doof helped out a bit too, but the main characters were all rushing around, very wooden in the acting department. Baljeet and Buford try to hold it together, but their efforts are all in vain.

Let's not forget the sound effect section. Of all the music cues they could've put in when they were making the island fort, they had to use a rehash of "Toy to the World" (Sudiyup, Sudiyup, didadiadeedaah) with added jungle beats.

Hey, now- I wouldn't call this "worst episode in the series" material. I think using a passing joke in a previous episode as a plotline was briliant, and Carl the Intern was a refreshing change of pace. There has been too much fanservice-based material lately, though (That Sinking Feeling, anyone?)

Haha, when half the viewers love seeing it get slipped into episodes and half get irritated with it.....there's no pleasing the fans, is there? xD

Worst episode in the series, meh, I don't really have one. Picking one, that'd make me feel bad for the episode. xP
