Randomosity - Page 5 Empty Randomosity

Post by eeemeee Sun Mar 29, 2009 8:32 am

    First topic message reminder :

I wasn't really sure what to put this sort of thing under... so I figured "Randomosity" would work; a thread for any random, not exceptionally important thing you want to mention to everybody can go. If any of you special peoples can think of anything better to call/do with this thread, go ahead and do it.

Now, on to what I wanted to say. Did any of you celebrate Earth Hour? March 28th, people around the world turn off their lights from 8:30 to 9:30 PM their local time. It's really awesome, because it conserves energy, and also makes for some amazing pictures of whole cities and even sections of the world blacked out. I celebrated it, and my siblings and I had a ton of fun running around and acting crazy in the dark. Very Happy

Oh, and apparently the idea originated in Australia... so therefore it's inherently cool, right? tongue

You know, I just LOVE changing the topic!

Lol, third day of school and already been asked out by a guy. I don't really like him or anything but I will admit he is really sweet.

Lol, he's from another school (which is much smaller) and when we started sixth grade the kids graduating to junior high were brought over from that school to my school district's middle school (and the ONLY middle school in the town) so he doesn't really know about all the strange things I've done over the years (often times having politcal debates in lunch rooms, having spaz attacks over pringles and getting REALLY sickly around them, my interest in disease phase, other much more bizarre random things) so I've got pretty much a cleared slate.

XD While in science he insisted, while exitting, that I go first (something that doesn't happen to often around here, guys are more like, "Yeah, let's go get in trouble and be funny *gasp* I'm athetlic now I'll be a chic magnet and a father at fifteen!!"... yeah...). He also was very kind around me and always did me little favors which was more cute from my point of view but whatever.

While in math, my desk partner person, "Sam" (girl), was all talking about how hot he was or whatever and kept messing with my hair (I hate that, I sort of have sort of a "dirty" hair style like "retro-ish" and it's actually harder to get it that way and look nice at the same time than you may think). Bleh, anyways, apparently he was interested in my style (loose jeans [tight at the knees and sort of tight at the thighs, loose from the knee down and over flows over my shoes], a sort of baggy but yet nice tee, and the occasional loose fitting jacket, and my "retro-ish" hair style) which I was quite surprised, I mean, I'm not one known to show skin and show off other... "features" a guy may ne interested in, and sort of seemed as if she was trying to sabotage me because she showed intrest in him (but yet he chose me over her when she's so much more popular?).

Plus, I can be slight bit of a nerd in certain classes (English and Science mainly) and you know how that goes. I'm sporty and have outranked many boys when it comes to fitness testing and that gets intimadating I'm sure. I'm not very neat and organized and so I can be a bit messy (and sometimes irr-responsible depending on if that's a word or not) so not always quite the ideal choice of many. But, heck, I must be doing pretty well this year XD .

Anyways, he is definately a lover not a fighter which I guess is what I prefer. He is truly a sweet guy always doing little favors whenever he can. It's cute, even though he sees it as serious.

He asked me out today with a note and I just said, "Sure." Not very promosing but he sure was like *shwwoop!*. Ha, ha. Very sweet but I just don't like him back but I can't just leave him, I think I'll wait for him to do the breaking up stuff because I simply can't do it to the little guy.

EDIT: Okay, well, eventually we broke up, typical here where I'm at. Anyways, my edit was that I found the really awesome site with really weird holidays and such (I was talking to someone and asking what they were waiting on and I said 'Christmas', I soon decided that was very dull and when I came home looked up 'weird holidays' or something like that. It's addictive, that's all I can say because there's about three to four different holidays every day!). I discovered that first off 09-09-09 (my friend's b-day/release of '9') was 'National Wonderful Weirdoes Day'. Ha, ha. I am SOOO using that against her.

Happy Race your Mouse around the Icons Day!! And 'Merry Crackers over the Keyboard Day'!!

No you're not, Tiggertine. "Heartless" is just as annoying as "Love Story"... though that link is awesome.

    No, no you're not.

And I must agree both 'Hearltess' and 'Love Story' make you wanna (somehow...) gouge your ear drums out to deafen yourself in hopes to ending the torture.

Obviously, she hasn't reached the end of Romeo and Juliet yet. Ironically, I've read through both for class... Scarlet Letter is a booooring read.

Right after the song ends, both of them poison themselves and die. (No, this is not marked by a spoiler tag. You should know the ending by now. If not, read more Shakespeare.)

I third the "No, no you're not" response.

I never understood why she compared the lovers in her song to Romeo and Juliet. That story has one of the most downer endings I can think of. Razz

In fact, the only ending that comes to mind that was more depressing was the end of All Quiet on the Western Front... we had to watch the movie of it in eighth grade, and at the end, everybody dies. Everybody. Even the main character. But I digress....

If I didn't know that by now, I'd have been terribly confused during an episode of The Proud Family, after several references in basically every TV show I've seen, including PaF, a College Humor video, but most of all, I'd be wondering what happened in between high school and now.

Have fun with that, eeemee. Eighteenth-century writers really know how to be consice and to the point... which explains all of their parageraph-long sentences about squirrels breaking wind.

Oh, the joys of eighteenth century loquaciousness. And I'm sure we'll probably have to write at least three essays on it when we read it, the way my teacher's going so far. Razz

Normally, I would edit my postings, but I was going to tell everyone that I'm back from vacation in the Sign In/Out board. Nobody would have seen this information unless I twin posted, which I haven't.

    Is this getting confusing? scratch

I think I'm tracking with you. No, it is not rude to double-post if the last post was made several days ago (that's considered a bump). But bumping an old thread is only acceptable under certian circumstances... like when the thread serves a purpose like signing in and out. I think bumping is more than okay in this forum.

Does that make sense? I actually sound like I know something...I've been online for waaaaaay too long. Netiquette FTW!

The answer is made very clear in the Information and Help Desk. If you haven't read the threads there yet, then you're doing something wrong.
