The Chronicles of Meap - Page 2 Empty The Chronicles of Meap

    Post by Roy42 Sun Apr 19, 2009 6:55 am

    First topic message reminder :

It's another average, logic defying day for Phineas and Ferb, until a crashed space pod, carrying an unbearably cute alien, Meap, thrusts the boys into another adventure in space! Everyone has a different role to play, while Candace holds on to Meap by accident, Ferb is fixing up the ship, as Phineas uses the new cute tracker to find where their new friend is, to the slight irritation of Isabella, as he can't get what *cough* is causing cute interference, but of course, it all has to lead up to the big explosive finale in SPACE -ace-ace. Meanwhile, Doofenshmirtz has a new plan, simplistic in nature, but buried in an avalanche of backstory, oh dears.

Like I've said, Big Mitch really is evil, Phineas Ferb and Isabella, like he said, "Just don't get it."

That kind of bummed me out a little, Roy. I guess some can argue that it was not Mitch's fault that the kids did not get the seriousness of how evil Mitch was. On the flip side, people can also argue that Mitch did not really demonstrate how evil he really was to scare Phineas, Ferb and Isabella and not think of his ship as a playground.

Maybe they were just still glowing in how cute Meap was, or something. I personally didn't see it, hang on, I just thought of something, if Isabella can break the cute tracker at close range, what would have happened when Meap got there? Phineas did say that he was the cutest creature ever…

Good question, Roy. The "Cute Tracker" was used to find Meap, but if Meap got too close, either the "Cute Tracker" would go crazy or short-circuit becuase it couldn't handle the immense amount of "cuteness" that Meap had. If it could not handle Isabella's cuteness, then it probably would not be able to handle that of Meap's.

I still don't get that cute tracker. Cuteness is intangible.....and I really didn't think Meap was that cute at all. xD

Well, if "cuteness" is intangible, then I wonder how Phineas was able to build something to track it. Not only is "cuteness" intangible, but I guess it is also subjective (depending on the views of the person).

Did we not all hear Phineas and Isabella's back and forth?

    "What is cute, anyway?"

"I can't define cute, I just know it when I pick it up on my cute tracker"

Why should they have to explain things? Makes it better when they don't.

I do remember that dialouge from the episode between Phineas and Isabella, but how can you track or detect cute or cuteness? I think that is what most of us are having a hard time trying to understand.

It's a jooooooke! It's all another joke in this wonderfully jokingful jokingness we love!

It seems to me like another subtle reference to how wrapped up people, such as Phineas, can get wrapped up in their gadgets (like in "Perry Lays an Egg".) Phineas doesn't really know what cute is, but he knows it when he picks it up on his cute tracker. It's like telling your iPhone to search for a seafood restaurant, and then punching the address into your GPS and following its directions. You don't really know where you're going, but you'll know it when your GPS takes you there. Another subtle, loving mockery of our techie generation. Very Happy

And I agree with Roy, it's a suspension of belief scenario that isn't mean to be explained.

Yeah, I guess, since some things are best left unexplained. It worked fine until Phineas pressed a few buttons and.......whoops, broke the cute tracker while on Mitch's ship when he tried to explain to Isabella that he already compensated for her cuteness. I guess that rules of Isabella breaking the cute tracker with her cuteness.

I wonder how quickly Doofenshmirtz must have worked to cover DEI in carpet, since he obviously initiated the plan that morning, must have been fast and/or with a whole lot of help.

I don't know.......that is a whole lot of carpet that be bought to get both the inside and the outside of his building (Doofenschmirtz Evil Inc.) covered. I don't think he had any help, unless he started way early in the day to get it done.

I am still irked by his obsession over ballooney though.

(I loved the cute tracker. You're expecting Phineas to say like I can't define cute, I just know it when I see it but instead he says when the dealy-bob tells him. I lol'd quite loudly at that part.)

And Doofy's got maaaad building skills, so carpeting probably comes with the job. Very Happy

Ok, I have seriously NO clue what you just said, except for the part that you mentioned in orange are the actual words that he spoke in the episode. We weren't expecting Phineas to say those words when he actually said them in the episode.

True, Doofenshmirtz does have pretty impressive building skills, maybe that's what Phineas would turn into if he became evil when he grew up.

Phineas is more of an idea-person than a builder, though, Ferb usually does most of the dirty work. They could be partners in crime....actually, that'd be really cool. xD

Nah, he wouldn't have any tragedy-laden backstory if that's what he did. Somehow I can't imagine him in an office or staying with one job for more than a few days...

I can NEVER imagine Phineas and Ferb using thier skills for evil purposes. Sure, you can write a fanfic story on that, but I would rather not go there, or even touch that idea with a ten-foot pole.

I'm saying, I, personally, was expecting him to say "I can't define cute, I just know it when I see it." But he doesn't. He instead says, "I can't define cute, I just know it when I pick it up on my cute-tracker." or whatever he says. That's what I meant. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the credits sequence yet. Those events would be huge if they really happened on the show, espicially Agent P getting fired. Anyone know who Don LaFontaine (the name in the memoriam) is?

Agent P getting fired or resigning from "The Agency" would really stink for fans of "Phineas and Ferb" and would make the overal plot of the show not worth even considering. Many of the fans of the show (such as myself) enjoy this subplot and how it connects to the overall plot of each episode. There have been fanfiction stories written about it, but I don't think (unless I am mistaken) see an episode where Agent P gets let go from The Agency.
