The Chronicles of Meap - Page 3 Empty The Chronicles of Meap

    Post by Roy42 Sun Apr 19, 2009 6:55 am

    First topic message reminder :

It's another average, logic defying day for Phineas and Ferb, until a crashed space pod, carrying an unbearably cute alien, Meap, thrusts the boys into another adventure in space! Everyone has a different role to play, while Candace holds on to Meap by accident, Ferb is fixing up the ship, as Phineas uses the new cute tracker to find where their new friend is, to the slight irritation of Isabella, as he can't get what *cough* is causing cute interference, but of course, it all has to lead up to the big explosive finale in SPACE -ace-ace. Meanwhile, Doofenshmirtz has a new plan, simplistic in nature, but buried in an avalanche of backstory, oh dears.

I think we can all pretty much agree unanimously on this.......I watched "The Chronicles of Meap" last night on Disney XD and I enjoyed it as much as I did when I first saw it.

Yes we can, it was even better for me when I recently got a copy of it in high quality, much more enjoyable to watch/listen to Ferb's new theme song.

It's one of those episodes I can watch over and over and it's still good! Plus Meap is just soooooo cute. :3 I also can never get over all the Star Wars references.

I reckon there's a SW fan among the Phineas and Ferb team, as they've done their share of SW moments in other episodes too, like with the bratwurst/hotdog battle.

And the "Help Me Phineas and Ferb, you're my only hope!"

Although it feels like they randomly refer to a LOT of different things in this show - more comedy for the adults to get that the kids would miss.

I don't remember if it was here or somewhere else I read that "Big Mitch" is used in reference to a line in another movie, except Mitch was replaced with a less G-rated counterpart.

    Random references are win.

That was from Aliens, the line in the episode was "Get away from him…Mitch!", I won't spoil it here, go watch the movie for yourself.

It would be hilarious if Meapless in Seattle was a real episode. Also, I'll kill Disney if they don't release a Meep plush doll. THE CUTENESS MUST BE IN PLUSH FORM!
BigNeerav wrote:Agent P getting fired or resigning from "The Agency" would really stink for fans of "Phineas and Ferb" and would make the overal plot of the show not worth even considering. Many of the fans of the show (such as myself) enjoy this subplot and how it connects to the overall plot of each episode. There have been fanfiction stories written about it, but I don't think (unless I am mistaken) see an episode where Agent P gets let go from The Agency.
It would certainly be the biggest episode since Phineas and Ferb Get Busted.

As I've said before, he doesn't really think of her as cute, he just acknowledges the scientific fact that she has high levels of cuteness.

I agree with Roy. I reviewed the episode again, and I see no place where Phineas actually acknowledges Isabella as "cute" in a direct manner (i.e. calling her cute).

Apparently on Wikipedia it says Phineas was just pretending not to notice Isabella.

Phineas was not ignoring (or pretending thereof) Isabella.......she did acknowlege that there was "high levels of cuteness" from her (but did not call her "cute"). At the least, Phineas did acknowledge the presence of Isabella next to him in the episode.

So I guess not so much the -ignoring- as the -acting obvlivious-

He was not acting oblivious, but I suppose if I kept mentioning that too many times, I'd become a hypocrite for telling Neerav to not do so in other threads.

Roy is right......Phineas was not oblivious to Isabella's cuteness, which would imply that he totally ignored that she was cute. My previous posts already gives what I deem as a good explanation, but I would not go as far as saying that Phineas was "ignoring" Isabella's "cuteness".

As far as Phineas was concerned, cuteness in whatever form and in whatever person is just another scientific element, another part of the equation.

You just have to love Meep's failing attempt to communicate with Perry the platypus. My personal favourite bit is the actual Bangoru convention, which leads me on to this question:

Does anyone have any idea about the lyrics to the Bangoru theme song?

Well according to the Phineas and Ferb wiki it's-

    Make a new friend it's..Bango-ru
    Cuddly little round guy..Bango-ru
    Battery powered..Bango-ru
I love you, I love you, I love you Bango-ru

Didn't even think about that til you mentioned it. I found those voices a little creepy in a way. Neutral

Sometimes I hear "bald" sometimes I hear "round" and sometimes, I just here gibberish, it depends on my mood.

Anyways, I found some of the things Doofy said/did a tad out of character and just plain odd (but I still love him, he can get away with a few weird things as I have gotten away with a ton). Like the whole trumpet impersonation? What was that all about? I mean, Perry can also be his friend, but I'd rather it, you know, not ever have to be mentioned because simply, I like it that way. I mean, when I'm talking to new people and my friend's with me I don't say ,"Oh, yeah, and this is my best friend!" It's going the show through pretty quickly when you see us going backwards in lines for rollercoasters just so we can sit by each other even though we know quite a few people who are surrounding us.

Some things I also found as if they weren't needed or could've been worded differently but heck, if the majority enjoyed it, they can continue doing what they do. It was a little different but it wasn't bad. And that concludes my negativity. On the bright side, I enjoyed most of the episode! Very Happy

What do you think of the songs in German? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-dVZlq_NV8
In the end from My Ride from Outter Space/Mein Schiff vom ander'n Stern (re-translated "My Ship from another star") my ears get hurt^^ But I think it's well done in German.

    Your new friend is Bango-Ru
    You're a little baldy, Bango-Ru
    Buy him today, Bango-Ru
I and You, I and You, I and you, Bango-Ru

Grammatical I'm not sure if it would be "Me and You"...

That's not your position to say. As for the link, Kirstie finishes all her sentences with a period, I'll edit the post to fix it, but don't jump to conclusions about things like this.
