    Perry/Doofenshmirtz - Page 3 Empty Perry/Doofenshmirtz

    Post by Roy42 Sun Mar 08, 2009 4:15 am

    First topic message reminder :

The relationship of Perry and Doofenshmirtz is an interesting one, to say the least. They are categorised as a "Frenemies" pairing, as they daily battle with one another over a contraption or overcomplicated scheme, however they show time and again how they don't simply do it for professional reasons, they both enjoy spending the time with one another as they fight, they even get along on occasions, partially due to Doofenshmirtz not being the most inherently evil villain seen, but also due to their feeling of completeness with each other.

Share your thoughts on this paring.

Mind you, if he still had that Steak Containment Unit, he could give Pinky one of those steaks for dinner if he turned against Perry...

Unfortunately we will never know... Question

I don't know.......some of the schemes of Dr. Doofshmirtz have been rather.......lame or uninteresting to watch. In other words, they are not as good as some of the ones in Season 1 in terms of both thier deviousness, as well as thier laughability. I am seeing still, the fighs between Dr. D and Perry (Agent P), but somehow, it does not seem as much as in Season 1. I do enjoy a good battle/conflict between the two, as it really adds to the overall plot of each episode of the show.

Well, some of the latest schemes seem rather tepid and lame compared to the ones that he has hatched in Season 1. Maybe he is starting to loose some of his edge (maybe finally realizing that he is fighting a losing battle) or is getting tired or bored of what he is doing. Don't really know which it is.

All I can tell you is that he needs to come up with better schemes or else he will end up as a "blah" character.

After reading your posts about Candace, I conclude that yes, you're letting your perceptions of real and fake blur too much, because you're talking like you only see the characters as real people. You need to see them as the characters, but also be able to see, slightly, the man behind the curtain, so to speak.

You're apparently missing — besides the fact that this should be in Doofenshmirtz's thread, not the Perry/Doofenshmirtz thread — the fact that his schemes are becoming bland intentionally. Dan, Swampy and the writers are exploring the relatively unknown characters and evolving those that we know, so that they continue to surprise us.

The way you talk about the characters makes me believe that you don't want the show to move forward and become more than 'almost formulaic'.

Let's just say that I am getting fustrated with this particular subplot. The rest of the show is fine, which I enjoy, but for some reason, I am not liking the latest slew of plots by Dr. D, and what seems like a decrease in the fight scenes between Dr. D. and Perry, which many fans of the show love watching, myself included. Recently, I feel the need to "fast forward" through these parts just to get to the good parts of each episode, and that is normally not a good sign, as a big fan of the show.

I am refering to the recent few episodes.......I cannot remember the plots exactly by Dr. Doofenshmirtz, but I can tell you that they did not make that part of the episodes interesting to watch. The ones back in Season 1, on the other hand, seemed more devious and interesting to observe.

Same here, I like the Phineas and Ferb parts better now, I used to be a Perry fan, noe I almost don't like him any more, it's weird! I think it's because I read a Perry/Doof. fanfic, and was distubed, I also saw some scary Perry/Doof. fan art. Or maybe it's 'caus Phineas and Ferb are better, who knows?

I often find myself skipping Phineas and Ferb parts for Dr doofenshmirtz/Perry parts..I don't know why I just don't like Phineas and Ferb as much as Dr Doof and Perry..it doesn't really make me laugh. Some plots like the Whale one.... are not that good..yet I think the Perry & Dr's parts are the best! A fact of the universe: You can't please everyone, all of the time.

You'll just find some episodes where you probably like one of the plots more than another, that's how it goes.

That is true......some of the episodes, I find the Perry/Doofenshmirtz parts more exciting then the rest of the episode, especially when not only are the schemes interesting, but the battles between the two characters are really going.

I friendship these two, but I don't ship them romantically. Their relationship is really cute. Sometimes Perry seems more like Doofenshmirtz's babysitter than his nemesis.

I am the same way, although I did like the whale one.
Dr. Doofenshmirtz line of "I just insulted the macaroni and cheese recipe of a whale! What part of that is not evil? "
Pause of silence Perry the Platypus, "you get back here and thwart me this instant!" Cracks me up every time.

I know, if it wasn't for Perry sometimes I think Doofenshmirtz would accidently off himself.

Just no. There's no "pairing" in this relationship. .... No.
